Hello, I was wondering if Aluminum Oixide is the same as Aluminum? I know it is used in making aluminum, but can it be used in place of it...

The advantage would be it's small particle size, equalling greater surface area...

Any comments?

A lot of people are using Iron Oxide. I guess if it work for Iron, it could be good for Copper Oxide, Titanium Oxide... Aluminium for what I read over the forum got mitigated result. Some people love it, some don't.

Oxide are used in paint pigment at high price. Try to look oxide for firework. Firework need a greater quantity of Oxide, so the price are more accessible for the gifter.

I didn't answer him, so if anyone used Aluminium Oxide before, please feel free to comment. I will look at the answer too. Smile

Have'nt used aluminum oxide, but have worked with different iron oxides, titanium oxide, and chromium oxide with great results. Aluminum metal is made from aluminum oxide and it being powdered there is much more surface area I believe. I have used aluminum powder that I got from condensing aluminum chips in an old blender to great effect as well. Firework suppliers do have some good deals on different oxides indeed.

The reason I asked if Aluminum oxide would work is because it's fairly cheap... about $2.50 a pound if you buy a 50 pound bag... comes in many many grits, for sand blasting metal.. ... So if your collecting shavings from a metal shop, ask them if they use it and where to get it local... or there is always the good old yellow pages..

I'm thinking of using it with quarts sand, and resin.. trowl it out really thin on a blue tarp (lightly oiled).. let it dry, then pull the tarp in on itself to break it up... do it with love in your heart... programing it to be the very best fertilizer ever... and get ready to plant a garden... and gift it far and wide.. in parks and woods, cemetaries, hospitals and the like.. Get nature to return to as much of the planet as we can..

Orgone for everyone...!!
